保存完好的画作可以在经过时间的消磨后仍展现它原本的色彩和模样,但在这位艺术家的笔下,每一幅画都能拥有瞬息万变的能力。

A well-preserved painting can still present its original color and shape after going through time. But from the pen of this artist, every painting can possess the ability to change constantly.

这些作品夹杂在民间艺术和媒体艺术中间,通过装置变动以及投影技术而同时具备了奇妙感和距离感。声音、物体与建筑空间之间互相产生奇妙的反应。

These works are mingled with folk art and media art, provided with the sense of magic and distance at the same time by device movements and projection technique. Magic reacts are generated among sound, object and architecture space.

钢琴既是乐器又是模型,褪去光滑的表面外壳展现其被隐藏的内部。钢琴既是模型又是纪念碑,它要求我们拒绝传统,透过表面去感受更深层次的美学思想。

A piano is both an instrument and a model when its smooth surface is stripped and its hidden inside is presented. A piano is both a model and a monument, asking us to reject tradition and to feel deeper aesthetic ideas though its surface.



来自加拿大的艺术家Denton Fredrickson于2017年6月至2017年8月在上海斯沃琪和平饭店艺术中心进行驻留。

Canadian artist Denton Fredricksonstayed as a resident artist at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel inShanghaifromJune to August 2017.

曾惊叹于腹语表演的Denton和他的朋友们,为了解开这个无生命物体的声源之谜,从腹语表演者那里带走了模型,并结合灯光制作了这个可以持续发声的拼贴装置。

Surprised at ventriloquial performances, Denton and his friends took away models from ventriloquists, in rder to unlock the sound resource myth of this inanimate object. They produced this collage installation, which could produce sound continually, with the combination of models and lights.

在Denton的工作室内摆放着各式各样的工具,以便于他更方便地将动力学、电子学和数字化装置结合在一起。

There are various tools in Danton’s studio, in order that he could combine dynamics, electronics and digital installations together conveniently.

一扇撞色的手绘门——位于可移动墙面末端,是致敬并模仿华纳兄弟于1956年出品的一部动画片制作而成。

A hand-painted door with contrast color - located at the end of a movable wall – is a salute and animitation of a cartoon produced in 1956 by Warner Bros.



驻留结束之际,Denton Fredrickson为上海斯沃琪和平饭店艺术中心留下了一件Trace。

At the end of his residency, Denton Fredrickson left a piece of work as his ‘trace’ at the Shanghai Swatch Art Peace Hotel.

一扇窗或门,在一无所有之地 — 局部


画面中的男士拿着尺笔在绘制窗门。明亮饱和的色彩跃然于白色纸张上,同时在投影技术下拥有了更丰富的生命。

The man in the painting is drawing a window or door with a rule and a pen in hands. Bright saturated colors fly off the white paper, and are able to possess a richer life with the help of projection technique.
