在你迷茫于琐碎日常的时刻，“艺术”就像是一剂妙方，唤醒你对美的感悟，“制作”这剂妙方的人便被称为了“艺术家”。
When you feel overwhelmed by daily trivialities, “art” often turns out to be a magical cure as it would take you away from all the “realness” for a moment and relive your appreciation of beauty. The maker of this magical cure is known as “artist”.

今天的主人公就是一位特别的艺术家，她甚至没有把“艺术家”当作是她的职业，因为投身于艺术仅仅是源于那份热爱与向往。
The artist we will present today is special. She doesn’t even see “artist” as a career. The reason for her to devote fully to art is purely out of passion and love.
她就是来自新加坡的艺术家Sookoon Ang，于2018年9月至11月在上海斯沃琪和平饭店艺术中心进行了驻留。
She is Singapore-based artist Sookoon Ang. She stayed as a resident artist at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai from September to November, 2018.
看似矛盾的材料与观念在她的创作中得以“和睦”相处，她的作品能够在兼顾主观与客观的同时，诠释出其更深层次的含义。
The seemingly contradictory materials and notions “live” in peace and harmony in her practice, imbuing a deeper sense of meaning into her work.

Sookoon Ang很鼓励观者与作品之间能够进行互动，或许是行为上的、也或许是精神层面的，所以她的作品往往是开放式的，不会进行过多的预设。
Sookoon Ang always encourages audience to interact with the works, physically and more importantly, intelligently. Her work is always open for experience and interpretations without preset assumptions.
她的创作灵感来源非常丰富，看过的、听过的、感受过的……她深知艺术绝不是简单对现实进行描述就够的，是需要透过琐碎的日常去挖掘、去找寻的。
Anything and everything could become her sources of inspiration, be it something she sees, hears or experiences… Knowing from her heart that art isn’t merely reflection of the reality, she puts a lot of efforts to explore for it through all the trivialities.

驻留结束之际，Sookoon Ang在上海斯沃琪艺术中心留下了一件Trace。寄情以中国水墨，延续她惯有的创作风格。
During the end of her residency, Sookoon Ang left a piece of her work at the Shanghai Swatch Art Peace Hotel as her “trace”. The exquisiteness radiated from the appearance of Chinese ink art indicated a continuance of her artistic style.
她会为唤醒更多生命之美而继续创作下去。
